Experiences

  • This DOES NOT work out of the box. You must enable the LAN boot in the BIOS. Next, you must follow the directions mentioned here: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Unrecognized_NIC using sky2 as the kernel module. Afterwards, no problems detected yet (audio untested, 8/15/08).

Helpful Notes: I tried to do the Google search for the motherboard and the keywords "kernel module" but came up with nothing. I found that when I did a PXE boot, the kernel module was listed at the top of the page where at the bottom of the page the infamous "kernel panic" message was showing.

I added the 1000 mbps capabilities to the specs from personal experience. On boot, LMCE lists the connection speed at 1000mbps and my switch confirms the 1000mbps connection- even though the official specs only list 10/100.
